MAGNETISM OF LOW-DIMENSIONAL SYSTEMS:
FILMS, MULTILAYERS, PATTERNED STRUCTURES
During the last ten years the division Magnetism of Low-Dimensional Systems at GHOST laboratory in Perugia has carried out a thorough research activity concerning the magnetic properties of ultra-thin films, multilayers and patterned micro- and nano-strucrures. Brillouin Light Scatternig (BLS) from spin waves and Surface Magneto Optic Kerr Effect (SMOKE) are the main techniques exploited by our group. Both techniques are implemented both ex-situ and in-situ in a new Ultra High Vacuum preparation chamber.
